The exquisite fish like trumpet, box fish and clown fish add to the splendor and beauty of the marine life. Moray, eel fish, stone fish pose potential threats for the scuba divers. The life beneath the sea exudes a riot of colors and the breathtaking, magical and invigorating beauty can be visualized by the divers. The marine life is replete with shells and aquatic plants. The shells are collected from the beaches by the tourists. The marine lives are dwindling because the fishermen are destroying the reefs by dynamite. The shells are also preserved by the Government of Mauritius by imposing a ban on selling of shells. The marine lives in the reefs of Mauritius are a glaring example of the delicate ecological balance.

Reefs and marine life of Mauritius: The reefs provide the breeding ground for proliferation of marine animals. The reefs are the place where the marine animals live and eat. Special steps are being taken by the Government of Mauritius to protect the reefs from destruction by sinking the vessels inside the sea. The wrecks of the vessels are converted to coral in 5 years.

The plenitude of marine life woos hordes of tourists who are bewitched by its enormity and the magical beauty. The scuba divers can explore a marine paradise dotted with a plethora of marine flora and fauna.
